Community Service Projects

Ever year, guild members gather to have a sit-and-sew for one of our local non-profit organizations.  In 2023 we will be making walker bags, fidget quilts for patients with Alzheimer's Disease, adult bibs which are used by care givers who help feed people with difficulties feeding themselves, and child quilts and blankets to be given to the Addison County Parent-Child Center.  We use our spare fabric and scraps and transform them into gifts of care and compassion.

The guild also makes and donates quilts to the Quilts of Valor Foundationwhich provides quilts to give warmth and comfort to American Veterans touched by war.

Previously, we donated $800 to WomenSafe from our Christmas ornament sales at our quilt show, and a similar amount to Middlebury Community Cares for their community lunch program.  Sales of ornaments from the 2014 show were gifted to Addison County Home Health & Hospice and ornament proceeds from our 2017 show were given to Everybody Wins, A reading literacy program for children.
